I grew up on the other side of the state in a little town called Frankenmuth...aka Christmas Town! I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors degree in Deaf Education and endorsements in Elementary Ed and English. After graduation, I moved to GR and have been teaching here for the past 10 years! I have 2 beautiful daughters who both attend Northview Schools and I'm learning now what it's like to have kids come home with homework. I'm a huge Detroit Lions football fan (don't tease me) and am currently learning how to play the guitar.

I graduated from Western Michigan University in 2004 with degrees in English and environmental science. Before I graduated, I lived in Prague, Czech Republic, for a month and studied creative writing! After I graduated, I worked for several years as a writer and editor for a company right here in Grand Rapids. I started skydiving in 2005 and have been doing it ever since. Working as an editor, I helped people learn to write more effectively, and my hobby as a skydiver allowed me to teach people how to skydive. Doing these things helped me realize that I really wanted to be a teacher, so I went back to school at WMU. I'll graduate (again!) in December of 2010 and will teach language arts and environmental science. I love learning from the people around me (teachers, students, family, friends, co-workers) and just got an article published in the September 2010 issue of Parachutist magazine!
